Every summer, the annual Autofest Show in Oshawa provides the perfect place for car enthusiasts to spend a hot weekend. It also raises much-appreciated support for Grandview Kids. We are always so thankful to everyone involved in this amazing event.
Unfortunately, Autofest had to be cancelled this year due to the pandemic. That didn’t stop the Motor City Car Club from going ahead with their fundraising.
“If you’ve been through Grandview, you know it’s an absolutely amazing place,” says Gary Challice, club member. “One of our members came up with a great idea with regards to the t-shirts we sell at Autofest. Since we already had the artwork done, we decided to put “The best event that never happened” across the back and sell a limited number of shirts to raise money. We had a drive-in day for people to pick up their t-shirt. It worked out really well!”
Members of our Foundation recently visited the club’s brand-new Clubhouse to present them with a thank-you picture drawn by some super Grandview kids.
We also had the chance to tour the new location, which President, Yves Ouellette says has come about because of the hard work of many of its members. “We bought the place and then re-modelled the club room, tool room and our shop area so it’s more useful for us. We’ve all put our own efforts in. It’s come out really good!”
T-shirt sales led to the Motor City Car Club making a donation for $3,800 to support the life-changing programs and services at Grandview.
Our thanks goes our again to the amazing Motor City Car Club for We are so grateful to the Motor City Car Club for showing such incredible dedication to Grandview Kids year after year. Your caring support is making an important difference in the lives of so many kids. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your continued friendship.
