Help Support the New Grandview Kids
The New Grandview Kids will address several current infrastructure challenges facing Grandview Kids and our ability to serve Durham’s children and youth.
On April 13, 2022, Grandview Kids proudly announced Children First Consortium as the successful proponent to complete the design, build and finance of the Grandview Kids Redevelopment project. The Children First Consortium is made up of:
- Applicant Leads: Amico Design Build Inc., Sacyr Construction S.A
- Design Team: Parkin Architects, H.H. Angus and Associates Limited
- Construction Team: Amico Design Build Inc., Sacyr Construction S.A
- Financial Advisor: Stonebridge Financial Corporation
With a focus on hope, belonging, discovery and celebration, the NEW Grandview Kids will be a centre of excellence in paediatric rehabilitation. The centre will support seamless, coordinated, and client-driven care. The space will be open, welcoming and inclusive. The building will be home to a mix of rehabilitation, medical and clinical services, as well as education and research activities.
The Centre of Excellence will include:
- Centre-based rehabilitation services, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, recreation therapy, audiology, infant hearing, blind, low vision, social work
- Ontario Autism Program (OAP)
- Preschool Outreach Program (POP)
- School-Based Rehabilitation (SBR)
- Developmental Paediatricians and specialized medical services, including a Paediatric Complex Care Program
- Family/caregiver resources and support
- Campbell Children’s School

Our community has long understood Grandview Kids’ need for a larger modern facility to better serve children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs and their families in Durham Region.
The population of children and youth from birth to 21 in the Durham Region is growing yearly. Grandview Kids’ existing facilities don’t have the capacity to respond to the ever-increasing population.
The “New Grandview Kids” will be a spacious, multi-floor facility located in Ajax on 5.6 acres of land that has been generously donated by the Town of Ajax. This fully-accessible building will allow us to expand or enhance our existing services and introduce innovative new ones.
Public-sector commitments are now in place for the New Grandview Kids at the federal, provincial, regional, and municipal levels. Raising $20 million through the Believe Campaign will help to cover the remaining expenses after government funding is received, making it possible to build and support the modern facility we need with the capacity to treat more children and provide more life-changing programs and services.
We have already raised $18.5 million and need to raise an additional $1.5 million to build and support the New Grandview Kids.
