Grandview kid, Owen has set the goal of walking 56 km over the summer to support Grandview Kids through the GET ACTIVE CHALLENGE. This 10-year-old has come so far thanks to the support he received at Grandview Children’s Centre throughout his life.
Diagnosed with Kleefstra Syndrome at age one, Owen’s parents were told that there was a good chance he might never walk or talk. After years of hard work alongside Grandview’s team of therapists, staff, and volunteers, Owen has completely altered those expectations.
Now, he’s walking the full distance to his gramma’s house, and he’s doing it to raise money for the place that helped him so much.
Owen also challenged his buddy and racing “coach”, Devin, to walk in the GET ACTIVE CHALLENGE and collect pledges that will benefit kids in Durham Region. Devin accepted his challenge and is planning to run a whooping 500k by the end of August. Will you get involved as well by setting a challenge and collecting pledges?
