Mikyla is 6 years old and full of energy! She has a strong personality and the sweetest smile. She loves going to the park, watching movies and singing karaoke with her family. Mikyla lives with her mom, dad, and older sister. Mikyla requires 24/7 support and was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a rare chromosome disorder called Trisomy 2 Mosaicism and is non-verbal. Mikyla has accessed Physiotherapy, Occupational and Recreational Therapy and Social Work services through Grandview Kids. Together with her family, they are working on Mikyla’s goals which include the ability to speak and express herself and perform simple tasks independently. It was hard for her family to accept her Autism diagnosis. Grandview Kids helped reassure her family of the available resources in aiding Mikyla through her journey and provided them with newfound hope.
