On November 29th, Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health visited Grandview Children’s Centre to make a very special announcement. She began her visit by spending a bit of time with beloved therapy pony, Tulip, and awesome Grandview kid, Addison, before going on to speak to the large crowd of Grandview staff and visitors who had gathered.
Once at the podium, Ms Elliott announced that in an effort to end hallway health care and build a connected and sustainable health care system centred around the needs of patients, the province would be introducing a brand new model of care. Ontario Health Teams across the province will work to bring health care providers together to work as one team.
Grandview Children’s Centre is a key partner in the Durham Ontario Health Team. Our group has been chosen as one of the first 24 teams in the province to organize and deliver health care that better connects patients and providers in their communities to improve patient outcomes.
The kids at Grandview will benefit from better integrated health care in our region, with a seamless experience when moving between different health care services, providers, and settings.
