Police Officer rides for Grandview Kids!
On Monday, April 29th, police officer Nafis began his five-day journey by bicycle from Ottawa to Toronto in support of Grandview Kids. This is his second time embarking on the 450km adventure while raising awareness and funds for Grandview Kids.
Motivated by his son, who receives occupational and speech therapy as well as physiotherapy at the Grandview Children’s Centre, Nafis plans to complete the journey in 5 days.
Nafis says that his goal is to help children through Durham Region receive access to the services they need. “I was motivated by the need I see in the communities to help children,” said Nafis, before he began his ride.
In 2018, the ride raised $12,000.00 to directly support Grandview’s life-changing programs and services. “I selected Grandview because of all the great work they do to support children with ASD and their families,” Nafis continued.
Upon his return, a BBQ will be held at Morningside Park on May 4, 2019 to commemorate the completion of the ride.
From everyone at Grandview Kids, we wish Officer Nafis a safe and wonderful ride. We truly appreciate your wonderful initiative in support of Grandview Kids.
