Andrew had a rough start to life, but he’s always been a trooper. Born at only 26 weeks, he came into the world with numerous health problems including five serious heart issues, periventricular leukomalacia (PVL), and lung issues. His initial prognosis was pretty bad. His parents were told that he would never talk, walk, eat, or speak, which of course, was devastating to them.
Andrew has been coming to Grandview since he was a tiny baby still on oxygen. He’s benefitted so much from the different therapies he’s received, and the programs he’s been a part of.
Today, this high-schooler loves music and is preparing to take on the world. This summer, he attended the “Beyond the Walls” program where he had the chance to practice his job interview skills through a mock interview exercise.
